5th Grade Field Day
5th Grade Field Day is a parent volunteer driven event set up by Mr. Tatro each June as celebration and recognition for all of our fifth grade students. The Field Day portion of the day is Olympic themed and many of the events are loosely based on various summer Olympic events.
Students are randomly assigned a "country" to represent. Each country spends 10 minutes or so rotating through 10 Olympic events which they are scored on. At the end of the event, each countries scores are tallied, totaled and organized. At the end of the day during announcements, the winners of each individual event are recognized and awarded "Virtual Gold Medals" and the top three overall teams are awarded "Virtual Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals". Feel free to click through each event below to see how it is run and how it is scored. The day is so much fun for our students, our teachers, and our parents who help us run the event, we couldn't do it without your help! |
